Grown on the gravel soils of Hawke's Bay's warmest sub-regions, this is a supple fragrant Merlot dominant blend. A core of rich plum and berry fruit is enhanced by lifted floral nots, hints of thyme and subtle earthy undertones. Oak maturation has delivered increased depth and complex of cedar, spice and cacao.

The cuvée 'Saint-Esprit' comes from a small valley nestled in the northern part of the Ardèche. The vineyards are planted on granite, south-facing slopes near the villages of Saint-Julien and Saint-Alban. Its deep colour has a dark, plum-like hue. The nose is classically Syrah, with berry fruit, violet, liquorice. It has a full, rounded palate with delicate tannins, making it unique in the Côtes-du-Rhône category.

Its colour is a deep ruby red, showing garnet reflections while young. With its predominately berry-fruit bouquet, this wine shows the full aromatic power of these two noble grape varieties whilst still retaining freshness.

The Devil's Staircase takes the willing down into the realm of decadence and bacchanalian delights. Here everything is pleasure, spiced up with a dash of naughtiness. The unrelenting environment tortures the vines whose twisted limbs produce wine worthy of absolution. These wines are sinfully succulent and devilishly good.

This wine shows a nice cherry colour with a violet shade because of its youth. Red berries and cherries bouquet on the nose. On the palate it is fresh, slightly astringent and harmonious with long finish.
